Building a beautiful strong muscular body is within the reach of most guys, but it does require effort and commitment. There is no silver bullet or magic wand to change the body overnight from the 98-lb skinny guy on the beach to the incredible hulk.

One of the basics is to increase the diet throughout the day. Your caloric intake should be around 3500 calories which are best spread out over 5-6 smaller meals. Another point is to drink plenty of clean water. This not only hydrates your tissues but helps the body get rid of waste compounds that develop as a result of increased muscular activity and growth.
Do not forget the importance of good, restful sleep. This is your body's chance to repair itself and rebuild tissues that have been stressed and torn down - as in a good workout.
And finally you need a plan of attack for your time in the gym. If you're already packing a few more pounds that you would like, you would likely benefit from a lower-weight and higher rep type of routine. This will cause you to burn more calories while firming your muscles - like a 1-2 punch. For those who are smaller and looking for quicker gains, a better method is a high-intensity but shorter workout that really stimulates the growth of your muscles. And with either method, keeping your routines to 3 times per week is really all it takes. Anything more and you can start to feel like you live at the gym, and it can also keep your body in a rather constant state of fatigue. Remember, you want to let the body rest and rebuild itself, it does not get a chance if you work out every day.
Although the principles are rather simple, your results will depend on your dedication and commitment to regularity. It definitely helps to have some you trust guiding you along the way. Someone's whose help has enabled others to reach their goals and is committed to helping you as well. A personal trainer may be the solution for some - although that can get rather spendy.
